New to Hosting An Au Pair
Dear Cynthia,
When I called Rainbow Au Pairs I had never had an au pair before and didn't know where to start or what to expect.
I am writing to thank you for all your help finding Nicoleta. Particularly when it came to the details: helping me to ask the right questions when I spoke to her on the telephone; write down what I expected her duties to be; sorting out the offer for her to become our au pair and enrolling her in to a suitable College. All these things I thought were going to be very daunting tasks but became very easy with your help.
Nicoleta is now settled in our home and has become part of our lives. With your help I have been able to make her duties clear, which has meant that we both know what we can expect from each other. She is a lovely girl, friendly, chatty and helps even when it is above her duties. The children adore her and she spends a great deal of time with them - playing, reading and even helps them with their school work. This is as well as their day to day care, which I did not expect.
Your help to settle her by introducing her to others in the area I think too will help her become a happy member of our family by giving her the opportunity to have her own life away from home.

She took a lot of time in speaking with me to find out who would fit well with our family. In the end we employed Darius, he is very able, willing, positive, sociable and great with the boys. Her keenness to bring the au pairs under her wing and provide them with a social link point is vital to their getting on in a new place. Since I first spoke to you on the phone in May/June 10, I have found you to be more than helpful and very efficient. You have helped the family to find a suitable Au pair, smoothed over any problems that there may have been with travel arrangements and have been very understanding when the invoice wouldn't go through.
You have also advised the best way for Clothilde to be introduced into the Aupair world and I am pleased to say that since speaking to you, she has met an Au Pair who lives in a near by town through a web site which she met today for coffee. Clo, is a very friendly girl and has also met some french girls when out shopping as she heard them speaking french, so introduced her self.
All in all I am very pleased with the service that you have provided and have and will continue to pass your name onto anyone who may need your help.

Au Pair just arrived
From our point of view she’s doing incredibly well, she’s making a huge effort to settle in even though unsurprisingly she’s been quite homesick but she’s stuck it out and with a lot of help from skype and us keeping her busy hopefully we’ve got through the worst bit and she’s looking to the future. She’s settled into english classes, navigating some new friends and doing really well with both my parents and my children so hats off to her!!! Certainly she’ll be missed when she does go and we’ll need another I think !!

New to Au Pairs

I found Rainbow Au Pairs via recommendation from two of my friends. To be honest of I’d looked at the website I probably wouldn’t have made contact as I didn’t think that my area was covered.
From our first conversation the process was very easy. All my questions were answered and I felt as though I could ask anything, regardless of how silly it sounded to me, being an Au Pair family novice! By the end of the same day I had, via email, a selection of 12 Au Pair details, with letters from them, references, medical forms and police checks. I put together a shortlist (with the help of my children!) who we telephoned on the Saturday morning. By the time I had put my children to bed that evening, we had confirmation that our first choice had liked us as much as we’d liked her and we started making arrangements for her start date!
The hardest decision I found I had to make was in deciding to have an Au Pair in the first place! I have possibly been lucky in this process – I’m fairly laid back and the Au Pair I have chosen is helpful and proactive, but between us and Cynthia, Rainbow Au Pairs have made the process easy and pain free – our Au Pair is great, it’s one of the best decisions I have made.

I think like you said i was too picky with what i wanted and you were honest, so i was the problem..but you were very patient with me and never gave up!
All is well here with the Au pair, English language is a little bit of a problem but we are getting there. After all the hassle of looking for a driver, he does not feel comfortable to drive so he is taking the bus...ironic!! but at least i know a driver is not essential any more. Well still early days but going OK at the moment.
